EVERYTHING YOU NEED
At Needles Quilting and Yarn shop we carry a wide variety of yarn, fabrics, patterns, and notions -- everything you need to tackle your next project. Founded by mother-daughter team Sandy and Rabecca, Needles is a cozy place to find an exciting new yarn, or just the right fabric. We offer classes personalized to your schedule and skill level, ranging from beginners' classes to advanced techniques. And if you're looking for project ideas or to connect with other crafters, we offer a great selection of quilting and knitting clubs and events, including monthly Stitch and Sip Afternoons and Evenings right here in the shop.
Right now, we are partnered with H.O.P.E., a domestic violence shelter located here in Rochelle. You can bring in your gently used or like-new items, such as: hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, or quilts for donation. If your donation is hand-made, then you will receive some Needles Bucks in appreciation! (Needles Bucks are good for $5 off of a purchase of $15 or more, and can be stacked.) Donations gathered at our store will not go to the HOPE Chest, but will go directly to the women and children that need them.
See you soon.
Join us for a year-long quilting project! It is a Thangles twin sized quilt done in super fun yellows and oranges. Thangles are a great way to get your feet wet with paper piecing. Easy patterns, and a low price make this a great first block of the month club. Skill level: beginner.
Pricing for the club is $89.46, and then $2 a month when you come to pick up your new pattern before the 1st of the month. (If you come in after the first, it's $3.)
Stop in anytime to sign up. The first block pick up is February 10th.
The Wool Mat of the Month Club is a fantastic new club now available at the store. There are no meetings so you can come in and pick up your kit whenever works best for you each month! The mats are themed to coordinate with the month or season, and by the end of the year you will have 12 new cool wool table mats. You can keep them as a set, or gift them individually (or as a set).
Each kit will provide everything you need for the top each mat so you can personalize the backs. The monthly fee is $15.41, and the kits will be available to pick up on or after the 1st of each month, with the first kit available on March 1st.
Come learn this honey-based knitting technique from a pro! Rabecca will provide more of a blurb, and info on the "something like honey" pattern being used. Class is for a confident beginner.
Bring a sack lunch, and a hand project into the shop and meet new people! We will have drinks, and treats, and sales, and drawings, and all sorts of other fun.
A spot in the Stitch-In costs $5, but your ticket will be good for $5 off your purchase of $10 or more that day. We're also launching our partnership with HOPE, the domestic violence shelter in Rochelle. Starting on the 17th, you can bring in gently used or like-new items such as hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, or quilts for donation. If they're handmade, you'll earn Needles Bucks: coupons for $5 off of a $15 purchase. You can even stack them: $10 off $30, $15 off $45, etc.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
2015 is the Needles' Year of Men Who Knit! This is the first of four knit-a-longs that we will be doing this year featuring the work of some great male knitwear designers. There are a lot of great dudes that make knitwear, and we're happy to show them off!
Julie will be launching this class with the Beautiful Color Block Shawl. It's a multipurpose pattern, and looks great in any number of styles. Designed by Stephan West using Cascade 220 Fingering and the Intarsia techniques to create 3 different sizes of lovely shawl! We will have instruction and treats available during the kick off!
The pattern will cost $6, and you will also need to buy your own yarn. This will run about $20 if you use the recommended yarn.
